Before I went to vacation, my mother said that she left a book there for me to read. My boyfriend said that I should not read it, because every story made me cry - sometimes because it was sad, sometimes because it was just simply touching... but they also made me laugh... I loved that book... I read it in few days (if I had more peace, I would do it in a day).... for those who love animals, this one is a must! Animals bring out the goodness, humanity and optimism in people and speak directly to our souls. This joyous, inspiring and entertaining Chicken Soup collection relates the unique bonds between animals and the people whose lives they've changed. Such as the dolphins who helped a paralyzed woman heal when doctors offered little hope; the dog who brought life into a failing marriage; the kitten who helped a mother mourn; and the flying squirrel who taught a man the power of laughter. Packed with celebrity pet-lore, Chicken Soup for the Soul relates the unconditional love, loyalty, courage and companionship that only animals possess. Just like our furry, feathered and four-legged friends, this enchanting book will bring a smile to any pet lover's face ... and it's housebroken! |

I must admit that I'm really a big fan of Anne Rice, still I love some of her characters, and I wanted to read something that wasn't so popular... i took this book the moment it came out, so nobody talked about it like they did of other her books. In a moment i fell in love with the main character: Quinn... and a spirit that is always with him... we also can find Lestat there and the mayfairs... I still prefere it over the other chronicles.... The main character is Tarquin "Quinn" Blackwood, a child of the Blackwood clan, which is a powerful and old family in New Orleans. Tarquin is haunted by a mysterious spirit named Goblin, who is attached to him spiritully. He realizes that he is unable to defeat this creature alone. Risking his life, Quinn embarks upon a quest to enlist the aid of the vampire Lestat de Lioncourt. Lestat, after a fashion, agrees to help Quinn. The novel develops as Tarquin recounts tales of his growing up, his youth, his family, and even his forced conversion and acceptance of the Dark Gift. His stories allow Lestat to better understand the reach and power of Goblin, who continues to haunt Tarquin. Lestat also discovers that Tarquin is connected to the Mayfair clan of witches, which also makes New Orleans its home. This information, combined with his failure to defeat Goblin, forces Lestat to request aid from Merrick. Merrick, a powerful Mayfair witch-turned-vampire, agrees to help. And... there is more, but I'm not going to tell... you need to read it *_* |

The year of the published is of the version I'm giving here. When I was little my mother read it to me in Slovenian, and then when I was old enough I read it alone in English. I found it really great - written in a very good way and it made me keep going till the end in a very fast way. The passions and intrigues of Napoleon Bonaparte's court are brought vividly to life through an unusual point of view: that of a merchant's young daughter from Marseilles who became Napoleon's fiancee and rose to become queen of Sweden. A massive international bestseller, the film version starred Marlon Brando and Jean Simmons. |

The first of HP books, that came out like more than a dacade ago. I loved it from the first moment. Rowling is a good writer, and her way of writing makes you glued to the book till the very end. The novel begins with the wizarding world's celebration of the downfall of Lord Voldemort, an evil, powerful and cruel Dark wizard. After he killed Lily and James Potter, Voldemort attempted to murder their one-year-old son, Harry. The magical curse rebounded and destroyed Voldemort's body, leaving only a lightning-bolt scar on Harry's forehead. Harry is placed in the care of his Muggle (non-wizard) relatives, the Dursley family. |
